ACP, DYNAMIS, CRAFTING and Proto-Ultima/Omega (Not in that order though)	[Nov. 2nd, 2009\|12:26 pm]
Woo ACP! This was my reward from completing the final battle from the first mini expansion, "A Crystaline Prophecy." (ACP) It seems the chances of getting a ring with these stats seem pretty rare. (Around 3%) So I was very pleased when yesterday afternoon, I clicked on the red chest and got this. Limbus! Hmm what else has happened over the last month? hmmm? Oh yeah, the ls has popped a record-breaking amount of Limbus bosses in October and I finally got to win something from them. (Two Proto-Ultima's and one Proto-Omega.. The record previously stood at two Proto battles in one month.) My thanks to Alexios who donated the first three chips from Temenos zone which went towards our 2nd Proto-Ultima set. I hope you have a nice time in Austrialia over the next few months :) As for the drops I have won from these proto-battles? Well I managed to score a win on both Nashira legs and Homan legs! I almost lost my Homan legs because I accidentally passed on them. Psykopat was the only one who had not passed on the them so he held the item in the treasure pool long enough for me to drop party and get invited again so I owe him a big thanks for that. It was very close indeed but I got them. Dynamis! Fusionamis continues as always each Thursday with my LS. Thanks to them that I have completed another relic set: BLM! Yet again it's the head I am short of so that would mean I would need to get lucky at Xarcabard >< Crafting! I've been focusing a lot on levelling my Woodwork lately and it's starting to get rather hard now. Finding new ways to make gil to match the speed in which I can burn it is very difficult lately. My currant skill is 82 in woodworking and it's starting to take it's toll a bit but after checking some of the later synths to get to 100, I am not doing so bad yet.. I am making Mythic Wands to hit 84 and then maybe I can make Mithra rods or Mythic Poles to get a little closer to 89 and then move on to Kabura arrows which I can use later on for my RNG if I ever get around to levelling it >< Kabura arrows cap around lvl 91 but does involve levelling my bonecraft sub to 53 but it's 10 levels lower then that atm and will require me to go out there and farm some ram horns for them. Another alternative which might make me some gil back would be making some 9 Drawer Almirah to 91 and wouldn't require me to go out and level my bonecraft any further then it already is. Edith ~ Genkai 3 Well this is only a side note really but I thought to mention it anyway. Edith, my mule hit 59 a few days ago and I asked Dogcat to help me with Genkai 3! It was fun revisiting those old places and I got through it all with only two deaths. Me and Dogcat both completed our Crimson Orb quest! If you don't know what that is, it's the one where you got to touch the wall of banishing next to a bunch of lvl 68-75 mobs, talk to the taru NPC to get a white orb key item and then visit 4 pools in Davoi to transform the orb in to the cursed orb. Once you have the cursed orb, you return to the NPC and you get the crimson orb so you can enter the boss area of Davoi and get that part of Genkai 3 completed. There's lots of other stuff that has gone on but I can't remember it all right now so take care and bye bye.

Dynamis relic update, fishing advice from SSG and Silverhook?	[Oct. 2nd, 2009\|01:28 pm]

Albi has quit the game so he will no longer be sponsoring Dynamis to get his relic shield. :( I really hope the ls goes on with this event long in to 2010 because there are still so many items I need to complete my relic sets. Nudawn are pretty much over as a linkshell and no further Einherjar or Dynamis runs have been set with NudawnAlliance. This is why I will only get my once-a-week Dynamis fix with my own linkshell. I used to do one run with Fusionamis and the other with NDA. >< Fishing advice! ~ Sea Serpants Grotto (SSG) This is an edited map of the pond at SSG. If you stand where the red marks around the pond and cast your line, you are most likely to catch fish. If you stand below the bridge outside the red lines, you seem to only be able to catch monsters! This was one mistake my bro, Pen made when I was trying to get him interested in fishing after he got dumped on Remora because he got hacked. I was a little concerned that even with a fishing skill of 10, that he would not be able to reel in some Nebimonites which were worth upwards of 10-13k on Remora server at the time. Even Norg shells were inflated in price, 15-25k each! I advised him to try some ferry fishing first as crayfish paste only targeted Nebs on there with a Halcyon fishing rod. There was too much downtime and too few bites on the journeys he was on between Mhaura and Selbina. Having Silverhook pop on one ride was fun but made things a bit risky to fish if sneak happened to ware off when you did actually get a bite. Fishing on the upper deck does not save you from aggro if the NM moves close enough to you. I guess fishing on the ferry on this occasion was unlucky with the bites he got. It can be like that sometimes. By the time this picture was taken, Pen didn't have much of any gear at all. Just AF, some crappy charm gear and the odd piece of campaign gear he'd got on his travels. Making gil was at the top of the agenda and a plan B was in order! As you can see, I tend to fish here a lot but on this occasion, some people dragged Chary to the pond and kited it around for 45 mins. I got TOD but I had the sword already and it was going to be a late repop for people in the ls to bother to come and camp it again later. Pen went to SSG to fish with the same fishing rod and paste (Halcyon fishing rod / crayfish paste) and the results were amazing. Even on days where he didn't catch much of anything but Norg Shells, he was making a ton of profit with the odd skill ups. Skill ups came from Nebs and the odd Bastore Bream but there was a danger to come from fishing here using a Halcyon fishing rod. As paste is being used, you don't need to worry about line snaps since all you will lose is 1 crayfish paste and not a shrimp lure which obviously is very costly if you do lose it.. The big problem is chancing it when attempting to reel in Bastore Breams that can break your fishing rod. A broken fishing rod costs about 8k to sell on Remora and to buy a new one will cost you 10-11k. >< If you are a little inexperienced on how your line behaves when you get a Bastore Bream to bite, then your going to have more broken rods then actual fish in your invent. Breams tend to have a lot more stamina then Nebs, Colbalt Jellyfish or anything else there and will take more effort to ware their HP down to zero. So if you don't want to reel it in, hit the ESC KEY asap. You also want to look out for this message while using a Halcyon Fishing rod: "You have a terrible feeling about this!!!" This is not a monster, it's a Grimmonite (large fish) and will also snap your fishing rod so be aware of this. Anyway, knowing all the risks and the price of Norg shells being as high as they were at the time, Pen was able to get pretty much most of his gear back and much more using this method. BTW, if you peeps ever get a Lu Shangs fishing rod, then you will be laughing as the only problem you will face is the occasional line snap as your rod will never break. (Unless your lvl 90+ fisherman attempting to reel in some lvl 100+ fish.) Small note: Crayfish paste can be bought cheaply from any of the fishing guilds or crafting them if you are levelling cooking to lvl 52 and beyond. (Buy the crayfish from the guild and take yourself to sandy to buy the Sand'Orian flour from South Sandy.) From a 10k investment, you could easily craft around 29-30 stacks of crayfish paste which can last around a weeks worth of fishing. (Assuming you spend between 2-4hrs a day doing it.) One last thing to think about: If you find that you keep fishing up damp scrolls, you need to level up your norg fame and quest your Jubaku: Ichi scroll. Once you have this quest completed, you will not get this scroll biting on your line ever again! Well that's me done for today, see you again!

Life on Remora	[Sep. 1st, 2009\|01:37 pm]
~~Penfold~~ Penglijasd update! Well anyway, it seems that Pen's character could not be rolled back after all and he has to remain on Remora until 10th November 2009 which is the earliest time he can tranfer back to Valefor from Remora. There were lots of reasons for this but mostly because being an EU player using an NA imported copy of the game, caused some issues when it came to validating the roll back. Pen was able to provide enough evidence to prove he was the account holder after the hacking so the GMs gave him back the account the way it was found at Remora. Apart from the loss of his gear, he was charged for the server transfer and SE would not back down on this even though it was done by unauthorised access. In the meantime, here's a picture of Pen dancing near a random popping GM in lower Jeuno! ~~Auban~~ Kjljkjh Update Auban used to be my brother's main before he made Penfold on Valefor. I don't know why he stopped playing Auban because he levelled so many jobs (including brd to 49 and BST 41) as well as getting rank 5, he just got bored of playing it. Since then he was a used as a storage/AH seller at Jeuno.. well until the hacking anyway. I've tried to convince my bro to keep using this character while he's on Remora but he's more worried about what people might think of his key-mashed name and refuses to use it anymore. On the same note, he's done so much on that character that he doesn't want to delete it either. >< I set his bazaar comment for him and hope people might feel some sympathy towards his situation but it won't do much good if they can't read English. ( I guess.. ) What can I say? The picture speaks for itself

Missions and stuff!	[Aug. 25th, 2009\|07:33 pm]
WOTG Mission..I can't say which but if you've done this one already you'll probably know anyway. ;) This is my cool action pose! I seem to have my legs up in the air on this one :D Moogle missions! If you are lucky enough to win the final battle of this mini expansion, you might see something like this in your cutscene... however......... Some people might find this scene cute but I'm not so sure. Anyway, I am up to date with my WOTG missions as well as completing the Moogle missions, I am yet to claim my reward from that BC. What Augments shall I have? Hmm I have no idea! Thanks to Maurauc, Vilma and Abeo for helping me with all these missions! Assault missions! I have been spending the last few months repeating all 50 assault missions to help some friends of mine hit captain rank for assault missions. Am I mad? Well maybe but I enjoyed doing them and I was able to rack up an amazing amount of assault points at the same time. The first lieutenant (FL) rank assaults are some of my favourite out of the lot and you don't get many chances to repeat them which is sad because you can get from 1500 assault points each with a party of 6 for the clear. Some might say that these assaults aren't easily performed with a random shout group but are perfect for salvage statics who want to farm points together rather then being left to their own devices to repeat red vs blue assault multiple times. I think hydra is reasonably easy to farm for points since each time we didn't rely on 2hrs to beat him each time we won. Dracular is one of the more harder FL assaults because it takes a while to take him down and he has some real nasty moves too. Congrats to : 360, Dooom, Vilma, Maurauc, Vashy and Morrana for obtaining captain! I hope you enjoy your "free" runic portals and access past imperial guards by shining your badge at them. Also I am sure you will all find some use out of that extra assault tag too. ;) Relic Amor Update! I think this picture more or less belongs to the moogle missions section but I also crafted some of the logs I got to craft in to lumber. Ghelsba outpost entrance is just perfect to get some maple logs to make in to sugar. I haven't levelled anything since getting DRG to 75 because I have been so in to levelling more or less every craft you can think of. (Well ok, not chocobo digging but you get what I mean.) I don't have any pictures of my currant craft level because I have been too lazy to, lol. This picture was taken when I was on my way to levelling alchemy to 60 so it was last month when I did that. While I was levelling leather craft and bone craft together, I had to kind of camp rams which gave me the chance to kill this guy a few times naked. Of course I didn't need the horn quest item but he did drop plenty of skins and horns for me to craft in to leather and arrowheads. Thanks to Jolena and Kendlar for coming at a moments notice to help me kill it but I am pretty sure I could have soloed that naked as BST/WHM. :D I also found this guy on widescan for the first time while farming in the highlands. I probably should have just left him alone for someone else who wanted the rare/ex chakram but I couldn't resist and killed it anwyay. A few weeks ago I went fishing for titanictus on the ferry with Jacend when this happend... I think that more or less wraps it up for today, take care while I work out how to use my dam security token!

Penfold update!	[Aug. 17th, 2009\|11:21 am]
Account Hacked! I did have a ton of content to post for this update but to be honest, it wouldn't be right at all. For those of you that have been reading my Live Journal over the last few months, you would have seen that I have been posting my adventures in Vanadiel with my real life brother, Penfold. He actually reached 75 on BST/WHM not long ago and had been attending even more ZNM events with my linkshell, FusionRR. The next step for him was to level up DNC and NIN so he could sub them for BST for specific events. (DNC was to be a sub for NIN so he could solo to 37.) So anyway, while I was helping Morrana, Dooom, Vashy, Vilma and Maurauc with some FL assaults so they could reach captain rank, Penfold was levelling his DNC to 16 in South Gusta. Little did any of us know that this could be the last time Penfold would be seen on Valefor again. The following evening when Pen went to login, he found that his password had been changed and since I was in Dynamis Xarcabard at the time, I was unable to help. At least till it was finished anyway. Sometime later, Dynamis had ended, I sent Pen a link via msn to the web chat section of Playonline to request a password change. https://admin.instantservice.com/links/5461/10655 <--- Playonline > Service & Support > Web chat When he got his password changed and logged in to his character, this was what he found! His name had been changed, dumped on Ramora server, stripped of everything except his basic charm gear and equipped with a carbon fishing rod and a fly lure while standing beside the manta fishing pond at Kuftal Tunnel. He totally freaked out to say the least. I was talking to him using my headset via msn at the time and I couldn't understand what he was saying. "Omg, omg Pen-jjjjj-isd???????!" I was like "what?!" "Omg I'm in Kuftal! WTH! I didn't log off here and I'm on Remora?!" .. "There's these high level people checking me and I got this bag next to my name!" "Where's my gear??????" (Penfold had some items up for sale in his Bazaar including a wooden hakutaku eye and some other junk that wasn't worth selling on AH.) After that he was talking so fast I didn't understand a word of it so I had to get him to calm down a bit. Penfold hadn't had much experience at Kuftal and was basically lost so I asked him to pick a teleport spell and get the hell out of there. Which he did, then used the repatriation option from the FoV book at Dem. The next part of the story basically moves on to a new password change in POL viewer since the one the GM gave him was a temp one and Pen logging out to try it out. At this point Pen was locked out of his account again as the error message had said that password had been inputted incorrectly three times. I am not sure if this was because Pen had done this by accident or the person who originally stole his account was trying to recapture it. Pen attempted to contact POL again but it didn't really amount to anything so we decided to sleep on it. "GDR!" or "Game Data Recovery" The next day I went to visit Pen we got the ball rolling and got a new password change for "Penjijasd" and told the GM what had happend to the account. He advised us about a "GDR" which basically stands for "Game Data Recovery" or most people tend to call it a "Roll Back" but we couldn't agree to it unless we read the terms for it first. The GM told us where to check the conditions for going through the process of a GDR before contacting the call center again. (Which we did!) An email was sent to Pen which he filled in a form to send back to SE so they can investigate the case before deciding if they can "roll back" his character to the point before he was transfered to Remora. So that's it really.. The only thing to do now is to sit and wait. :( The gear that was stolen was mostly the stuff that belong to me. To be honest I don't care about any of it as long as my bro can get his character back. I've pretty much dealt with a lot of crap with in game drama over the past few years but this takes the biscuit. It's been a terrible week and I have thought long and hard about quitting the game because my heart seems to get knocked out even further each time something like this happends. The loss of his character feels as bad as losing my own. Security Token I have ordered my Security Token because of this incident and I am sure Pen will when he has a decision over his account which I hope will be very soon. To this day he has no idea how his account was compromised and his PC will mostly be wiped and reset in the next few days even though antivirus scans have come up empty. Hopefully I can update on this story soon and there is a happy ending for all but incase there's a chance that Pen is lost forever, he is thinking of starting again. At least this much is a good thing. :)

Fun stuff this month! AF, Maat, Drakesbane and much more!	[Jul. 12th, 2009\|12:48 pm]
The Mog Bonanza DW got lucky and won all 3 king statues! Me on the other hand won Behemoth on my mule, Janey for the mog bonanza event which run from May-June 2009. Romantic invite or not, DW let me loose in his moghouse and after a while I decided we should play a little hide and seek! I think I had him fooled for about 5 seconds as to where I hid myself but then again, DW does not play fair and I doubt he turned his back long enough for me to find a good hiding place. /cheater! Penfold's Update! I haven't updated you on Penfold's progress lately. (He is currantly close to lvl 74 on BST.) Well that's mostly because he hasn't been playing much lately and my involvement with endgame means I have even less time to spend levelling with Penfold during the hours he would normally login. In this picture I was about 74 on my DRG and I just set up a party to gain some polearm skill. Pen got some exp out of it but we both suffered the odd death here as I was trying to show him how to work the camp. Since this picture was taken I hit 75 on my DRG and done a whole bunch of stuff on it which I will post a little further on in this update. Caedarva Mire Exp! Earlier on this week, I invited Penfold and Dogcat to trio some imps in Mire for some exp. I brought my SMN, Pen came as BST and Dogcat brought her RDM along and it worked pretty well. We got 5-7k an hour which isn't bad at all. There's one particular camp which works well with BST since they can charm birds and sheep around the pond on the hill to use as pets. This saved us from using courier carries to pull and tank the imps and the local mobs tend to be slightly more stronger then jugpets anyway. I popped Garuda's Predator Claws on the imps which damage ranged from 900-1592! So basically x2 Predator Claws will more or less kill an imp while Pen's pet tanks it and zero hate goes on either of us as long as I open up the fight with a BP which does reasonable damage. I had to explain to Dogcat about pet hate and not to cast any spells until I had used my first Predator Claws on the imp to cement hate on Garuda. Dispel from Dogcat was pulling hate if she cast it on the imp, the moment it was pulled and I hadn't landed a BP on it first. Obviously amnesia is a pain even if your out of range of the imp when it used it. The main reason for this is you can't use any BP's because Garuda has amnesia and Predator Claws is a Job Ability. Even if your not the one afflicted with amnesia and your pet is, you can release your pet and resummon it to remove the status effect. The most interesting point is that you can be silenced and use a BP which in turn uses MP but you cannot resummon your avatar again unless you use echo drops or someone casts silena on you. lol if your the one who gets hit with amnesia, you can't really do anything with your pet other then let it stand there and consume your MP. If you happen to get hate during this time and the imp starts attacking you before you were able to throw Garuda at it, then your avatar will auto attack whatever is hitting you. (Which is nice but is also the reason why you don't pop an avatar around sea because they don't trust any "passive" mobs around there that like to follow you around.) Another interesting fact about pets acting automatically in defense of their master (although I do realize at this point I am digressing slightly) is "Maiden's Virelai" which is a level 75 bard song that enables you to charm a mob. Most people would agree that this is a pretty useless song indeed because you have no pet commands or Job Abilities to make the charmed pet do anything. (Also charm tends not to last very long.) One thing I found out a few years ago when I actually got brd to 75 was that if you charmed a pet using this song, attack another mob, your charmed mob would leap to your defense and attack the mob which has hate on you. It's pretty much the same how SMN works in that situation. DRG/WAR + BLM/RDM duo party! One of the most unlikely duo parties ever but it worked pretty well even though it was slower then a party, it was a change from doing fields of valor. I think Albi hit lvl 70 on his BLM from this particular party. In any case, Albi would nuke the Qiqirn and all the hate was on him so I was free to tp and ws on it as much as I liked. DRG MAAT 1/1 Ah yes, I finally hit 75 on DRG and beat Maat for the 12th time! I guess I spent too much time getting ready at the start or else I would have beaten that cleartime record easily. I just went in there and totally ignored Maat's wyvern and used Penta Thrust, Jump, High jump, Penta Thrust and then won, lol. 12th Mythic WS unlocked : Drakesbane! Another thing that comes with hitting 75 is unlocking another Mythic WS and Drakesbane is pretty amazing indeed. :D 2/5 MNK Relic ~ Free lotted MNK at Beaucedine! Not much has happend in Dynamis this month. I was lucky to free lot MNK body from Fusionamis's Beaucedine 2 weeks ago but I am having issues with getting BLM to drop from Jeuno which would have finished my set. I am slightly kicking myself now because a few months ago it dropped during one Dynamis-Jeuno we did with Fusionamis but I didn't set a seacom for it because I felt pretty sure no one would want it since it was a pretty crappy piece. I think maybe only me and Nix went for the free lot and she won it. lol serves myself right for trying to get an item on cheap points because if I had put it in my seacom, my BLM relic set would be complete now and I could be focusing on obtaining other gear from Jeuno... (Like maybe DRG or MNK for instance?) Out lotted on DRG body! We also did Dynamis-Beaucedine with NudawnAlliance not long ago and I lotted DRG body when it dropped but didn't realize how many people were also going for it and I got outlotted on that too. As I said in my post last month, absolutely everyone is levelling DRG now so lots of people are buying gear off AH to the point it's hard to get hold of and more people are going for the Relic set too. Fusionamis clear Dynamis-Windy with 17 people! Another fantastic moment for Fusionamis! We managed to clear Dynamis-Windy with 17 people and it didn't seem too hard either. I remember talking to Morrana around January this year and he said "oh yeah 25 is a good number to clear city zones." lol lately we've been low manning these with 15-17 people and this includes outlands which is really amazing. Xarcabard is slightly more difficult to farm because at some point your not going to be fighting regular mobs and need plenty of Sac-pulls for the NMs unless you got a lot of BLM there to nuke the eyes on the stands. Dooom needs a little more practice at mega boss pulling in Beaucedine but I think he can pull it off after a little more practice because there's still the odd member that needs the clear for there. Connection Lost at Mahjlaef the Paintorn! The LS is tending to do more ZNMs then actual sky or sea runs now due to attendance being low on Saturdays because people want to go out and do other things. Although if we get suprised occasionally and more people login, we have been known to pop bigger things like this. I was actually on BLM when we were fighting this and was in the process of disconnecting from server. I am sure everyone is familiar with the moment you DC and everything stops from your point of view and it takes a while for you to actually exit the server. This actually gives you a new perspective to be able to run around an alliance which is "frozen in time and space" to take nice pictures you wouldn't normally get because people would be screaming at you to "stand back".. then say "omg what are you doing near the melee??!!" Oh which brings me to another point I was thinking about last night while waiting to enter Einherjar with NDA. (It usually takes a while to get people to gather so I watch youtube videos) Video section! After watching a lot of other people's BQ videos, I wanted to make some sort of guide for it. It makes me feel very nostalgic watching it again because there's a lot of old members in there that have moved on to better things. btw, I was on whm while filming this video and aparently people were shouting "Jane, wth are you doing?" I didn't see them say anything because I didn't even have my chatlog up and didn't explain to anyone what I was doing at the time lol. FFXI Fusion Linkshell events of 2007 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eEEeJl4eu6s lol all we ever did in those days was sky which kind of reflects in the video I guess. Watch carefully for the wipe at Brigandish blade and me having to rescue a ton of dead people. (BB refused to allow us to steal that bloody dagger and to this day I am unsure why.) Oh yeah I used to play WHM and RDM a lot in those days. /point at the start of the video during the DM section, lol. Organising the DM fight was mostly down to me even though I didn't actually need the fight for myself. We did well and managed to get the server record even with the odd death along the way. /sigh during this period we had tons of deaths while getting around sky as most people still didn't know where they were going and used to find the most challenging spots to die so I could raise them. A lot of those clips I was alone rescuing people while others I had lots of people around me. Also I was spending a lot of time re-doing CoP for ls members who needed it 2836453 times. As well as helping Vashy's static to complete the lot which got stressful at times but was well worth it. I was on RDM at the time but I had no 2hr up and no other RDM in the ls had levelled DRK as a sub. So one evening before the end of the run, Des says; "Should we try Suzaku." I had my reservations at this point and wanted to say "no" but I guess I needed to prove a point at the time that /DRK was very much needed. I remember having a chat with Gorns about levelling DRK subjob around this time and he was more interested in levelling NIN for solo. It was kind of my goodbye video to her which is why she features in the opening intro for Dancing Mad. She was a very active member during her time in the ls and created most of the Limbus rules which still exists today. (Even though she was not a Sack Holder, she came up with a lot of the ideas and put them to the linkshell and people voted on it.) She was a good friend and even now I wonder what she's up to. In the end I wasn't happy with the way the video was edited so I remade it without the intro but did not remove "Nighty's" version because it seemed a shame to do it. I think I am ok at making videos but Geoffrey takes the prize when it comes to making characters act in his sceneros. I would like to try something similar to his Fusion stories but it takes up a lot of time and effort just to get people in one place to film the different emotes at different angles and edit them together to make it look good. Also there's always a problem with youtube and what music you decide to use because there's always a chance they can remove it or even refuse point blank to allow you to upload it all together. This is what has put me off from making many videos this year. :( I see that I have waffled on for a little longer then expected so good luck in getting through all this stuff I have posted here today. It's no wonder I save updates for once a month now, lol.

Yep, I am the real Angel of Darkness! Complete with my BLM/WHM wings, I am always there to cast Raise 1 on anyone who needs it. Anyone cringing right now? Another clear from Dynamis-Xarcabard from 2 weeks ago with NDA (NudawnAlliance) I was lotting Valor Surcoat there and Krayge said under no uncertain terms that he wouldn't be friends with me anymore if it dropped and I out-lotted him. He was joking of course but I guess he really wouldn't be happy if I did get that item before him. Not straying too far away from the Dynamis theme, this guy popped after we completed a low-man Dynamis-Beaucedine with Fusionamis. Those that were left behind and had not got a D2 or warped out after the event, stuck around to score a kill on this guy. Sadly no drop came of it but was still a fun fight... which only lasted a few seconds with as many people as we had beating it up to a pulp. Oh yeah and after last weeks Dynamis-Jeuno, I was able to free lot some THF feet and fate auto-sorted me a pair of WAR hands, lol. This puts my Relic armor count as follows: Dynamis gear recount: (UPDATE) BLM: 4/5 (Hands/legs/body/head) WHM: 5/5 (Completed) SAM: 3/5 (hands/legs/feet) PLD: 3/5 (Head/hands/feet) RDM: 1/5 (Legs) BST 5/5 (Completed) SMN 5/5 (Completed) BRD 5/5 (Completed) DRK 5/5 (Completed) MNK 1/5 (feet) WAR 2/5 (legs/hands) PUP 1/5 (hands) DRG 1/5 (legs) THF 1/5 (feet) Total relic count: 42 Ah yes back on the road of levelling DRG and what a relief it was! I saw this quest NM pop a few times while doing FoV in the Glacier. Before too long I managed to hit lvl 50 on my DRG and then moved on to doing some serious AF quests! Yeah there is a reason why I am fighting Centurio though! He popped while I was trying to get a coffer key for my boots. The dam key wouldn't drop but this guy popped instead so I asked in LS if anyone wanted a shamen's cloak while I kited him about a bit and Dooom raced to Quicksand caves to lot the cloak when I killed it. This is a very easy NM to kill as BST and I was able to hold it for quite a while till Dooom zoned it to lot the cloak. I had to log not long after this to get something to eat before ls event which meant I had to come back later to farm a coffer key. I spent another few hours killing Centurio placeholders without any luck after ls event when Penfold and Dooom came over to lend a hand. Once Dooom zoned in after 30 seconds, a coffer key dropped pretty easily. (He brought his thf along.) This meant I had to run back and change in to DRG to pop the coffer which Dooom very kindly found for me. He also helped Penfold farm a key for his Quicksand coffer map and also helped him to find the matching coffer. Thanks for that Dooom. Ah yes another fight for AF hands vs Dark Spark. Level 60 dragoooooooon! I love this AF set set! One thing I have noticed about DRG atm is that it's the latest bandwagon job! I'm always in party with 1 or 2 other DRGs in a level sync 55-59 or 62-65 party! 500-800 penta-thrust gogogogo! I am level 71 now but I haven't taken any pictures of myself at this stage. I prefer to just pose in my AF instead, lol. Moving in to Einherjar! Yup NDA has actually got back in to doing this again and I can't wait to get in vs Odin this Saturday. hmmm armpits! ZNMs! Yup the ls has got in to doing this as manditory events! This thing randomly popped when Dooom was fighting his place holders to obtain Zeni points. There was a few of us available for the fight so we rushed over there as a manaburn type of fight with a NIN tank. BLM threw low lvl nukes and Menacer was able to mostly keep hate. OH! I am late for helping peeps with their assault rank missions so I got to go, take care!

Merits (again) and Sky, Sky Sky!

WELCOME TO THE ID PARADE!

What's not to like about the new goblin belts from the latest Bastok Markets [S] quests?
Well it gave me and some other people I know something to pose in while waiting for Limbus to start.

Me and Vash helped Albi with his Sleepga II quest in the Boyahda tree.
Agas is a pretty easy NM to duo when you have a COR with you.
I love those pet attack rolls!
Albi on the other hand just fought off some aggro we got from some crabs neaby which wasn't great since I needed those for pets.
We did work things out eventually and we won pretty easily because Vash slept Agas between pet swaps with light shot.

I finally did it and got my NPC to 70 just before we popped Agas at the Boyahda Tree..
Also..
Dooom actually suggested Cape Terrigan to me to get some merits and it's a pretty cool place.
Although FoV has nothing to do with it at all. ;)
Well maybe FoV is a major draw but since we all got our anniversary rings this week you can get some pretty ok exp out there.
(I had also went to Jeuno to see how many points I had from the fellowship NPC there and geared him up for a wedding.)

Raptor skins, crab meat, water crystals, fire crystals, crab shells... erm beastmen seals and kindred seals all drop often here.

THANK GOD! Oh how I hated doing these merits because these
have to be the WORSED to complete in the game, especially if you don't like meriting.
I was going to try for 5/5 on INT since I do tend to play BLM a lot but I doubt that would have made a lot of difference on an Elvaan character anyway.
What person at SE thought that getting 3>6>9>9>9 merits was actually fun? lol
Well I'm done with them now and have actually capped Counter Rate and need another 9 more merits before I've capped Kick Attacks on my MNK.
At that point my Group 1 merits are done and then I got to work out what I need to do on my Group 2...
Geez it's been like a month since I've levelled DRG and it's driving me crazy with all these merits!

Why I find levelling other jobs more fun then meriting them is something of a mystery to me since it's more or less part of the same grind.
I guess it's because people can login and do /sea all "name" and actually see what progress you've made and then congratulate you for obtaining that level as opposed to merits where you got to actually tell people how you've been doing or else they wouldn't really know.

Meriting is also very hard for me since I don't really want to stick to one job,
I want to be greedy and try them all.
Of couse there will always be people that will say, "why bother levelling a job if you aren't going to use it later on."
I just see it as part of the game completion and tend to not leave a job till it hits 75 and it does tend to make most Maat fights easier if you wait till then.

On the road to sky!
This is me and Penfold outside Temple of Uggy last week before we completed ZM4 in the sacraficial chamber.
A big thanks to Detarium and Vampiro who offered to help us open the tornberry BC with their lanterns and created an easy win.
(Getting to the bc area proved a little difficult since I was the only one who knew the way there but we did fine in the end.)

We went on to duo the monkey NMs at Yuhtunga Jungle
(via Ifrits Cauldron) for ZM5 headstone mission.
Another big thanks to Dogcat, Threesixty and Salex for all your help on the headstone NMs at Cape Terrigan, Zi'Tah and Behemoth's Dominion.

We all remember the ZM8 fight with this guy right?
This was the first time I had cleared this fight so easily with 4 people.
We had also completed ZM6 fight in the Chamber of Oracles (Anitcan fight) pretty easily too but of course,
360 died to Eagle Eye Shot (EES) from the RNG ant towards the end of the BC.
A huge thanks to Dogcat and 360 for helping with both BCNMs, you both rock!

The next evening, Penfold completed the last of his cut scenes to get ZM13 pot NM out of the way since sky access was so close!
There seemed to be no one available to help when Pen had finished his cut scenes and was ready to go so I basically geared up my BST with a rough idea how we were going to fight this.
There is a room nearby with EP anticans and Girtabs (ep scorps) so we used those to fight the NM pot with.
The idea was not to let your scorp die and release it in the tunnel so it will depop and repop back in the room with full health before it died.
This worked well but with the two of us using the scorps in the same room, they were getting used up fast so we had to pop a few Carries to bridge that gap as we waited on repops.
In times like this I was so glad I capped Call Beast and Reward merits because it really kept my pets out a lot longer.

This was a very enjoyable duo even though Penfold had one death out of it near the end after pet swapping, we did very well indeed.

Almost there..! Penfold gets his last remaining CS before going through the Hall of the Gods!
BTW I haven't been through this gate since Teleport Sky had been invented!

The sight most of us take for granted but this is the first thing you see after you gain access..
Sky is still one of the most beautiful areas to wander around as long as you know the dangers that lay ahead.

These 2 pictures were taken about 2 nights after Penfold got access.
By this time he had come to Sky farming with us and fought Despot, Ullikummi x2, Seiryu and Suzaku..
All he could say to me was how much fun he had doing the missions and helping people in FusionRR with farming.
I have to admit though, I had a lot of fun doing them too and it just goes to show how much easier the missions seem to have become over the years since new gear and
merits have been introduced.
These missions were pretty hard in the day but not anymore!
I weep when I think of my own experiences of getting through ifrit's cauldron for ZM5 with an alliance...
Aggro every 2 seconds, death every 5 mins...and then wipe when we actually got to the Ash Dragon.
Not this time though because it was just me and Pen getting through the zone and it was pretty easy.
